Hitchwood – Green Tree
The easiest journey is to take the B656 Codicote Rd off the Three Moorhens r’about. At the Little Almshoe crossroads turn right for Preston and Princess Helena College. At the end of this road bear left and stay on the road. About half a mile or so after the turn for Preston and Princess Helena you will then come to a pull-in on your right with a post in the entrance.
Wymondley Wood – Green Fire
At the bottom of Wymondley Road go straight over the roundabout to Great Wymondley, turn left in the village towards Willian. Wymondley Wood is along this road on the left hand side, there is a sign at the entrance. If you reach the war memorial on the right hand side, you have gone too far! The track is a single lane with limited opportunity to pass. Keep on the track until you come to the end (there are a couple of turn offs, don’t take these), you will see large wooden gates, drive through and the car park is there, you will see other cars. All activities will be outdoors so please make sure your Beaver/Cub/Scout is dressed accordingly. If wet then make sure they have a waterproof.
