The Scout Section is for Boys and Girls aged between 10½ and 14 years old. A young person can come into the Troop at 10 and may stay until their 15th birthday. The Scout Troop is the third and final Section in the Scout Group. As older members of the Group, Scouts tackle more adventurous activities. In addition they go on weekend camps and a seven day summer camp. Scouts meet for 2 hours every week in term time and during the summer months spend most evenings out and about.
Because we have a lot of young people interested in joining us, we are lucky to have two Scout units, Phoenix and Griffin. When you join the 3rd, you will join one of these units along with other Scouts your own age. Each Unit is made up of a number of patrols with Scouts of all ages. During the term the two units will combine to do larger and age based activities. Both Units meet at the same time on a Monday.
